Have a Blessed, Joyful Christmas!

Nope, did not forget the reason for the season. It turns out that Christmas is a two-sided holiday. It’s about the joy of family, and the joy of giving, but also the Joy of Receiving Christ. If we work at it, we can make put the Joy of giving in it’s proper place, that is, as an exercise for being more Christlike. Right now Jesus is vulnerable just as we are. A little babe in the womb, and soon to be a babe in the arms.  What a profound thing this is!  I can never get over it.  So tiny so helpless, so large and so powerful.  All at once.

This icon is simple. I long to write it. It speaks loudly to me of the nature of the season.

God comes to us in mystery.

God Bless all of you! Joy! Blessed be God the Highest! Peace to people of good will!

This is my last post until Sunday. Really. Honest.
